This Gardens site is a private, DAAS sponsored, community initiative unrelated to any government organization. We are doing this on a volunteer basis, because it needs to be done. We plan to improve the site to include most of the plants in the Botanic Gardens. This will be an arduous task. A substantial amount of programming and research work was involved to complete the prototype, and it had only 14 plants. There are perhaps another 100 plants to be documented and uploaded. In addition, there are a host of small tasks that individuals can do, some in association with the Garden’s administration, to enhance the beauty and utility of the Gardens and the web site. But to get the job done quickly and proficiently, we could use much more help. There are several areas where help is needed; some must be done in Dominica, others are web based.
