SATURDAY APRIL 17th. 2010: Seamless Dominica Audio Report with Min. of Diaspora Affairs.


THURSDAY APRIL 8TH 2010: Dr. Peter K. B. St. Jean's 3-hour interview with Magistrate Gloria Augustus, who presides matters of juvenile issues in Dominica, included questions about how best Dominica nationals who reside overseas can best help her with the task of doing the best for out nation's youth who come before her, and the youth in general. In brief, Magistrate Augustus suggested that we develop a list of professionals in the areas of child care, mental health, family therapy, juvenile justice, general social work and other related fields to be available to provide their expertise, even if it was as little as visiting with children and families of interests, or organizing public presentations and otherwise to assist with the problems that she faces. We will soon provide you with an update on the full extent of the problems that Magistrate Augustus highlighted, especially with reference to how we can assist.


FRIDAY APRIL 9TH 2010: During the first day of the Camp Rescue Londonderry (CRL) 2-day seminar aimed at finalizing the proposal to secure a permanent site for the mentoring of some of the most needy youth in Dominica, the category of "Diaspora Organizations" was added to the list of CRL Stakeholders summoned to assist with the CRL mission, to address the vulnerability and total development of youth through the establishment and maintenance of a residential support program that include mentoring, training, apprenticeship, and counseling." The Diaspora organizations will be engaged for the following:

  1. Exchange of information
  2. Exchange of resources
  3. Avoidance of unnecessary duplications
  4. To obtain maximum support.
The second day of the CRL Seminar take place on Saturday April 10th 2010 to further finalize the proposal. The event was a success. Pictures to soon follow.
