Delmance 'Ras Mo' Moses
    Born in Delices, Dominica, founder of the ROC project, Delmance 'Ras Mo' Moses is of African and Amerindian ancestry. He is an award winning performance poet, master drummer, composer, recording artist, and organizational development consultant. 'Ras Mo' has published three collections of poetry entitled Crossroads, Melting Pot and the Mask. He also has recorded and released two albums entitled Tanbou Lanmou and Melting Pot and one CD entitled Tjebe/Hold On.

    He moved to New Haven Connecticut from San Francisco California, where he was Youth Program Director for Men Overcoming Violence and instructor in Caribbean Music in the Music Department of the University of California Berkeley. He also served as Musical Director at the Youth Treatment Education Court (YTEC a school and leadership program which is a pet project of San Francisco's Juvenile Drug Court). 'Ras Mo' has trained youth leaders, anti-violence and health educators, community and labor organizers, school- teachers, and artists in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. His latest project, "Pink and Blue", is a repertoire of original songs and performance poems, accompanied my curriculum modules, on themes of youth and domestic violence, gender socialization, AIDS, drugs, teen pregnancy, cultural pride, and youth empowerment.

    Recently, he was honoured in America for his work among youth in violence-prevention projects, and in developing training modules around a repertoire of original music and performance poetry that address gender, relationship, gun, and gang-related violence, drugs, HIV/AIDS, and STDs.
