Selection and Publication Criteria
Selection of Honorees
- Agreement by BOD/Exec (the Selection Committee) on recommendation of DAAS member with supporting profile. Initial supporting profile can be professional resume. But final profile needs to include criteria as follows below - the object being equally achievement and character.
- Criteria - Dominicans worthy of emulation. Above all, those whose lives personify integrity and honesty, fortitude and high achievement, and who have evidently gained the respect of their peers. But whose lives also embody the time-honored virtues of sincerity and loyalty, hard work and perseverance, discipline and diligence, leadership, contribution to community, and calling to high office, among other virtues as appropriate - recognizing individual variances in attributes.
The Publication Profile
- Format - One (1) page of Times New Roman size 12. Profiles longer than one page as specified will be returned to the author for appropriate shortening.
- Content - Profile should focus briefly on highlights of as many of the following as possible -- education, achievements, areas of specialization, recognition of peers, contribution to society (local, regional and/or international), high office called to/held, impact on social, economic or political advancement (education, religion, commerce, etc). And woven into these should be highlights of some of the more outstanding personal attributes that have made the Honoree a success - eg diligence, personal sacrifice, integrity, sincerity, independence of thought and action, etc. The recommender should know which ones the Honoree was better known for, but whatever they are, they should be woven into the profile. Highlights, not details, are what are necessary to validate inclusion among our Honorees.
- A good head shot or upper body photo will be needed.
