CHARLES, Alphonso
Born in Portsmouth, Commonwealth of Dominica, 1933, Alphonso migrated to U.K. in 1955 to pursue professional studies in Accountancy to later return and improve and expand his family business. While studying, however, he also became interested in the study of the metaphysics of self, which eventually convinced him that the problems of our world were aggravated by man's preoccupation with material things. Since then, Alphonso has been on a personal journey to change things for the better, particularly for Afro-British society in the UK. His first book, Commonwealth of Dominica - The Dominica Oversea Nationals and Me is an historical presentation and testimony of his untiring effort at seeking betterment for his people.
