The Dominica Math Society

Our Mission

Steering Committee Action

There are a number of issues that need to be addressed before the society is formally launched.

  1. Official name -- There are a number of applied mathematicians in the group, and I am suggesting a name such as Dominica Mathematical Sciences Society. The suggestion is open for discussion like every thing else that I might suggest.
  2. Officers -- Any society requires officers. At this point, I have no set number of officers in mind. However, there is a need for a secretary, treasurer, local liaison officers (whips) in Dominica, UK, US, and Canada, legal officer, etc, etc. (In order to be an officer, one needs to be a member of DAAS.) If you do not hold membership, I would strongly urge you to complete and submit the Registration Form.
  3. Goals -- The society will have some goals in mind--short, medium, and long term.
  4. Other -- There are lots more issues that need to be discussed. Please share them.

Let us try to coordinate all our ideas together in the form of a mission statement for the society. Then we can formally launch--slingshot, if you prefer -- by sending out information to the entire membership.
