Description and Mission of Affiliates

DOMINICA WORLDWIDE ASSOCIATIONS:
This is a Database or Directory aimed at bringing all Dominica Overseas Associations and Social Clubs together in an effort to create a Virtual Dominican Community. Ready access to organised Dominicans in the Diaspora is vital for the development effort.

DIABLOTIN TELEVISION:
Diablotin Television is a new independent privately-owned television production company, owned by Albert and Tempie Ltd. based in Crawley, United Kingdom. It was founded on February 24th, 2010, Company registration number 7168263. Our service aim to provide:
1. A means to help address the dire need of the community to assist with the chronic unemployed, homelessness, drug abuse, anti social behaviour and recidivism.
2. Secondly, to highlight and promote the interests of citizens of Black descent : namely persons of , Caribbean, Afro American and African origin. We believe that their hopes and aspiration are not adequately met in media and so leads to a sense of isolation from main stream society, hence the lack of Black role models in the society.

PONT CASSE PRESS:
In the early 1990s, after a five year sojourn studying law, I came across a box which was filled with the arcanae of a past life. In that box, which was emblazoned with the word SODABIX on its sides, and which had been shipped from Dominica to Baltimore, Maryland, and finally in 1984, to Brampton, Ontario, was a collection of essays, research notes from the University of the West Indies and John Hopkins University, photocopies of works from the US Library of Congress, copies of manuscripts from the University of Toronto, and an assortment of letters, old Chronicles and all the literary detritus of an aspiring academic turned lawyer..

THE DOMINICA COLLEGE:
This is intended to be "a system that can create the critical human resource mass needed to significantly increase productivity and competitiveness in the region and global economy. Dominica's social, economic and cultural development depend on the development of that critical human resource mass".

INSTITUTE OF CARIBBEAN STUDIES:
Our mission is three-fold:
1. to provide a forum for the private sector, the non-government organization community, scholars and others interested in promoting a dialogue on Caribbean issues.
2. to provide our partners with solutions to the challenges they face, enabling their survival, growth, and prosperity in the ever changing global marketplace, by providing them with world class research and action that will support their respective objectives.
3. to address economic development problems facing the Caribbean society by adopting a thorough, systematic and coordinated long-term perspective towards their resolution.

THE DOMINICAN:
In the words of its founder and editor, Dr. Thomson Fontaine: "The main focus of the magazine is to encourage Dominicans living in the Diaspora to play their part in Nation Building. By providing relevant and timely information on matters of National interest, it is hoped that there will be stirrings of patriotic fervor that will redound to Dominica’s benefit."

THE DOMINICA CADET CORPS:
The Aim of the Cadet Corps is to "provide progressive cadet training, often of a challenging and exciting nature, to foster confidence, self reliance, initiative, loyalty to country and a sense of service to other people. Cadets will be encouraged to develop personal characteristics of practical leadership and the ability to work successfully as a member of a team utilising the tried and tested formats of the military".

D.H.T.A:
"The Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association are committed to developing and representing the travel and tourism industry within Dominica, one of the Caribbean's leading eco-tourism destinations".

FRIENDS of PMH:
This is an NGO organised by concerned Dominicans at home in response to the dire need of our Health Services and in particular of the only major hospital, the Princess Margaret Hospital. As an affiliate of DAAS the online coordination of Friends attempts to inform Dominicans at home and abroad about the efforts being undertaken to answer the needs of our health services.

DOMINICA CHARITY FOUNDATION:
The aim of D.C.F. is to help the youth, the poor, the hospitals, the old people, women with children without fathers, the handicapped people, and to support a music school, and a Radio station in Marigot, Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies.

SIR RAGLAN PRESENTS:
Our original founding website, previously at Yahoo/Geocities, was re-designed and streamlined to its literary section. However, most of the information on Dominica has been incorporated in the Dominica Academy of Arts and Sciences (DAAS), managed by Raglan Riviere.

SUSTAINABLE STAR, LLC:

Sustainable Star partners with one of the largest generators and providers of energy services in the United States to deliver reliable cost competitive power. The company also offers an integrated portfolio of services that lead to strategic energy management including reduced expenses, active management of power consumption, and integration of renewable energy systems such as solar.

THE CARIB TERRITORY:
Dominica was the name given to 289.8 sq. miles of land, by Christopher Columbus, when he landed on the island on November 3 rd 1493. On the north eastern side of this beautiful tropical rainforest island is set aside 3782.03 acres of land known as Carib Territory. It is situated between two villages, Atkinson to the North and Castle Bruce to the South. It is the home of approximately 2208 Kalinagos, the remaining survivors of the first inhabitants of the island. The people call the island Waitukubuli (tall is her body), and they call themselves Kalinagos. The Europeans called them Caribs.
